Terms and Conditions

Your safety and wellbeing are paramount throughout your training. Your place on a course is only confirmed when we receive your fully completed booking form with full payment.  We require an individual booking form for each participant.

Terms and conditions​​

  1. Should RPM Sea School (the provider) be unable to carry out your training due to circumstances beyond our control you may be offered an alternative date for training, to be mutually agreed.  

  2. The provider has full and final decision on how and when any course is run and whether the course will go out on the water or not.

  3. Operating as an RYA Recommended Training School the provider, its staff and contractors accept no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury suffered by persons and/or their property arising out of or during the course of activities while training and/or coaching and/or instructing and/or delivering unless injury, loss or damage was caused by, or resulted from negligence or a deliberate act.

  4. You, the client, acknowledge that there are dangers involved in watersport/power boating and agree, upon signing the booking form, that the provider and their instructors are free from any liability in the event of an accident, death, injury or damage to person or property. 

  5. If we provide you with any equipment (e.g. waterproofs) you are responsible for the safe return of that equipment at the end of each day.  Damage beyond normal wear and tear will be charged at full replacement value.

Own equipment

You, the client, warrant that any equipment you bring on the course (e.g. lifejacket) is serviced in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and its condition is appropriate for use on the course.

Own boat

  1. You, the client, must produce proof of insurance for loss, damage and legal liability to third parties.  You must also secure the consent of your insurers to our course terms and conditions.

  2. While on the course you, the client, remain the skipper.  As such you are at all times legally responsible for the safe management of the vessel, including when under tuition.  You will not hold the provider responsible for any loss or damage.as a result of mechanical or other problems with the vessel the additional time will be charged at our standard rate.  If we need to provide a vessel to replace your, the client's, boat on a course we will charge our standard rate.

  3. We will require you agree to provide equipment required for the course on the boat and ask you to sign a document confirming this. Instruction will be refused if on our inspection the vessel does not reach the required standard for the course.  Should the vessel not reach the required standard and we are unable to provide a substitute the course will be cancelled.  In this case the fee will not be refunded.

  4. You will ensure that your boat is in an appropriate mechanical state for use on the course.  Should a course need to be extended due to delays 

Any mooring, launching, parking or other associated fee is the responsibility of you, the client.

Cancellation

  1. Should you wish to cancel your place on the course the following apply:

a.  Cancellation up to four weeks prior to the start of the course

     The fee will be repaid less a £75 administration charge​​

b.  Cancellation two to four weeks prior to the start of the course

     50% of the fee will be repaid less a £75 administration charge

c.  Cancellation within two weeks prior to the start of the course

     No refund of the fee

Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend.
